I like to mindlessly scroll pinterest for inspiration and have a nice collection of muses and references. Recently I came across this bucolic picture that exuded so much charm that I had to paint it. I wanted to try out the default water color brushes of Krita and this seemed easy enough to attempt. It was however too plain so I decided to add a twist. To my surprise - and I say surprise because most of the times when I attempt to recreate things inside my head I fail - it came out nicely. I call it "Haunting of the Hill House".
However this painitng again tended towards realism, no matter how much I want to acheive the watercolor style. I am still not satisfied with the default watercolor brushes. Perhaps I need to tinker with brush customizations or wait for a good brush set to drop in my lap. There is definitely more room for me to learn. So I'll keep at it till I can rate myself good.
